IRC should be easier to evaluate when the practical questions are answered directly. Where a universal answer does not yet exist, this page says so rather than inventing one.
Is IRC another full-time radiology job?
No. The current IRC model is presented as selective, opportunity-specific professional participation rather than another full-time shift schedule. The exact legal and contractual structure depends on the actual engagement.
Do I need to leave my current practice?
The model is intended to fit around an existing professional life. Any outside-work restrictions, conflicts, employment policies, credentialing rules, and contractual obligations still apply.
Is there a minimum weekly commitment?
No standing weekly minimum applies at the IRC-network level under Business Model v1. A radiologist may opt in to individual opportunities. Once an engagement is accepted, that engagement may have its own written time, case, response, or attendance commitment.
How are professional fees determined?
IRC does not use one universal rate card. Business Model v1 supports four compensation structures: per-case / case-bundle, hourly / session, project / day, and retainer / milestone. The actual compensation basis and professional fee or rate must be disclosed before you accept an engagement.
Can the work be remote?
Some opportunities may be remote when the engagement and applicable requirements permit it. Other opportunities may involve teaching, advisory work, meetings, or in-person professional collaboration.
Does joining IRC guarantee travel?
No. Travel, hosted visits, conferences, and destination-based opportunities depend on actual professional engagements and are not guaranteed by participation. When travel is required or approved, the written engagement states the travel terms before acceptance; approved travel costs are stated separately from the professional fee unless the written engagement explicitly combines them.
Which countries can currently submit professional interest?
The current IRC professional-interest form supports United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Spain, Portugal, and Italy. This is a recruitment/intake list, not a claim that IRC currently has active clinical coverage, institutional relationships, or engagements in every listed country.
Who handles licensure and credentialing?
No IRC relationship overrides applicable licensure, credentialing, privileging, privacy, contractual, or local professional requirements. Responsibility and process depend on the actual engagement.
Am I obligated to accept an opportunity if I join the network?
No. IRC Business Model v1 uses opt-in participation with no standing weekly minimum. You may decline a new opportunity or pause availability before acceptance. Once you accept a specific engagement, its written scope, schedule, response expectations, and professional obligations apply.
What information does the interest form collect?
The live form requires Full name, Work email, Country or region, and Primary subspecialty. Optional professional details include Credentialing jurisdiction, Current practice / organization, and Primary interest. A no-PHI acknowledgement is required.
What happens after I request consideration?
Your successful submission is recorded as an IRC radiologist-interest inquiry. Business Model v1 sets a target of an initial fit review within 5 business days. This is a service target, not an acceptance guarantee. If there appears to be a fit, IRC may invite a professional conversation; submission alone does not create network membership or an engagement.
Can I pause my availability?
Yes. Before accepting an engagement, you may decline new opportunities or mark yourself unavailable. If you later accept an engagement, the written commitment for that engagement applies.
Can I send patient information through the interest form?
No. The professional-interest form is not a clinical communication channel. Do not submit PHI, medical records, patient images, passwords, or sensitive credentials through it.
